Currently, Ahmed bin Khalid Al-Thani serves as the Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Doha, overseeing diplomatic and consular affairs within his jurisdiction. In this role, he works closely with Afghan community members, Qatar authorities, and relevant institutions to ensure effective consular services, strengthen bilateral engagement, and uphold the dignity and representation of Afghanistan in the Qatar.
2023 – Present
The Consulate General in Jeddah serves Afghan nationals living across the western regions of the Qatar. Under Mr. Tariq’s leadership, the mission works to protect the rights of Afghan citizens, support their needs, and contribute to productive diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
